Kids absolutely loved the place! It’s well maintained old castle with beautiful land. Our flat was great for family of 4! Beautiful pool! It’s a self catering flat (with total 39 flats) within a beautiful castle! We had a great time!

We had an excellent stay.The castle itself was amazing and we experienced great service from the staff. We already look forward to coming back next year!

We had a great stay at Montegufoni! The apartment was a great size for our family of 5. The views are incredible, the atmosphere is peaceful, and the pool is a great place to relax and cool off. We definitely recommend it.

We spent a great time at the castle, the flat is in the old building and very charming. The only down side is that there is no first necessity in the kitchen ???? (no salt, pepper, olive oil, cafe etc…) which is always very useful we we rent a flat. Nice location with a great view over the hills of Tuscany, not too far from Florence

It is a very beautiful place in and out. The view is incredible and the castel it's straight out of a fairytale. The personnel was really nice and receptive, also they helped us with any questions we had. The restaurant is amazing, the food is really delicious. We had a great experience. When we saw how many stairs we had to climb to get to our room, we were quite scared at first???? but it was worth it( after all it's a castel). The only thing that may have caused a problem was the heath. It's quite hot in the rooms but there were ventilators in every room so that was really helpful. Overall, we had a great experience and will be back❤️❤️

Superbe lieu très authentique que nous recommandons. C'est très agréable de vivre dans cet environnement. L'appartement était un peu vieillot, il faisait une chaleur étouffante (sous les toits) et nous étions réveillés par le bruit des livraisons le matin. We had the most brilliant stay. The castle was absolutely incredible and was the most excellent place to live the Italian dream for a few days. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful.

We stayed here with 5 friends, for our annual ''Girls Trip''. Unfortunately, we were unable to arrive within the Receptions opening times, but they arranged a flexible check-in for us, which was highly appreciated. They also offered a grocery service, so upon arrival, we had a filled fridge. The Castle is the most authentic accommodation we've every stayed in. All of us want to come back with family or partners. The restaurant was great as well, we enjoyed the food. The apartment we stayed in was a little outdated, but what to expect from a building like this? The only downside of the apartment was that the beds were quite hard, but that's a personal preference. Overall we rate the accommodation 10/10. Enjoyed the stay and for 100% we will be back here.

Wat een prachtige plek! Wij hebben genoten! Het appartement is heerlijk ruim. De ligging van het kasteel is mooi. We hebben genoten van het zwembad. Het restaurant heeft een mooi terras met uitzicht op het Toscaanse landschap. Het enige min-puntje: schommeling van het warme water in de douche. Aanrader en een top plek!

It was a great stay. We enjoyed Toscany's outstanding views from the castle. It was just around 45 mins by car to Florence and Piza.

Wie im paradies und einfach nur zu empfehlen. Es ist so wie man sich die Toskana vorstellt mit einem tollen Ausblick in die Weiten. Das Castello hat einfach seinen eigenen Charm. Die mitarbeiterinnen sind sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. das essen im hauseigenen Restaurant ist sehr lecker mit einem tollen preisleistungsverhöltnis. Kann es empfehlen… nur bringt zur vorsicht mückenschutzmittel mit.

A gorgeous castle with a really interesting history. The views are stunning and the location is ideal. The restaurant is absolutely phenomenal too. The only drawback is that this unit is on the top floor of an old, not very well ventilated castle and the nights are insufferable during a heat wave, even with the fans provided. Also, the one bathroom has a sewage odor.

The old castello, the yards and the garden are really stunning. Also the view from the terrace overlooking the area is breathtaking. The bedrooms in the apartement are clean and tastefully furnished with respect for the history of the place, while the kitchen is rather dark. We stayed during a heatwave in July and beforehand we were nervous that there was no aircon, but the staff in the reception was really kind to provide us with several fans that worked surpricingly well during the hot nights. Remember to bring toiletpaper, soap, dishwasher soap, exstra dish cloths, salt/pepper etc. We didn’t know that, but again the staff helped us out untill we could drive to a supermarket.

We really enjoyed our stay at the castle. The restaurant was lovely and the food and service were amazing. Reception was super helpful during our stay. We enjoyed the pool and the surrounds of the castle.

A magical setting, we felt like we were in a Disney movie! Every angle you looked was a feast for the eyes, Tuscany at its best. The castle restaurant was terrific and good value.

Truly a beautiful experience. The Castle was a peaceful and beautiful place, the rooms were clean and comfortable and the larger castle was so lovely to explore. The onsite restaurant was really convenient and served terrific Tuscan food. This is a gem of a holiday destination and I can't wait to return!

Beautiful surroundings, peaceful and tranquil gardens. I would recommend hiring a car as the castle is quite remote. Fortunately we had been to a local supermarket and stocked up before arriving as the rooms are quite sparse, very limited toilettries and cleaning products. The castle itself is spectacular and the views are worthy of a stay in themselves. We found our room for a family of 5 to be quite small and dark. At every opportunity we were out on the terraces as we felt quite claustrophobic in the room. A word of advice would be take lots of mosquito spray with you and plug ins for the rooms! Between us we were covered head to toe in bites and could hear them buzzing around in our rooms in the night. We were travelling with our toddler and did not realise there was an additional charge of €50 for a cot to be put in the room for 2 nights. This is stated on the website which I missed; however I did feel it was quite steep considering the length of our stay.

This castle was beautiful!!! We loved it so much, the views are incredible!! The restaurant food was okay nothing crazy but the dessert and wine tasting was very good. The room was clean and beautiful. We did have difficulty with the hot water getting to work but luckily my dad could fix it! All in all a very good stay

A few recurrents problems with the hot water (to have a shower or to wash the dishes). The place (palace, garden, swimming pool) and the location are perfect ! Easy to join every city around (Firenze, San Giminiano...). Top

Très bel endroit proche de Florence mais loin de son agitation. Idéal pour un séjour en Toscane. Une remarque : l'équipement de la cuisine était assez succinct.

Very cool opportunity to stay in a historically significant castle in Tuscany. the architecture and grounds are lovely and interesting. We found the pool to be a wonderful place to cool off on a hot afternoon. The rooms were pleasant, albeit without air-conditioning. Fans were provided and this was actually not a big issue. If you are planning a prolonged stay, I would recommend brining along extra personal supplies such as toilet paper, soap and shampoo as these are only provided in a limited quantity. if you plan on cooking, also bring along dish soap as this is not provided, although the kitchen is otherwise well stocked with dishes, pots and pans etc.

Great location, beautiful and tranquil scenery. You need a car to access. Friendly and helpful staff and the apartments are full of charm and character. If nobody is at reception due to limited hours, very easy to contact via airbnb or leaving a note at reception as we did. They provide fans in hot weather, but don’t expect air con as this is an old castle. Be aware you need to buy own basics such as toilet roll(only 1 provided per bathroom), liquid soap, salt n pepper. Plenty of towels. All in all would stay again.

We had a wonderful 4 night stay for a wedding! The castle staff was friendly and helpful. The grounds are beautiful and the views are fabulous!!. Everything was clean and neat. We loved overlooking the courtyard in our suite. The food was wonderful and was the right temperature even for the number of people we had dining. We were there in early October and it gets chilly in the evenings and overnight, but they don't turn the heat on until a little later. They had good blankets to keep us warm.

Schöne Lage, traumhaftes Schloss. Leider nicht genug gepflegt und die Wohnungen sehr abgewohnt. Leider auch viele Familien, von Ruhe am Pool keine Spur. Top Restaurant und nette Bedienung. Für zwei Tage mit leichtem Gepäck zu empfehlen

This 12th century Castle in Tuscany is beautiful. As a family of 5 with 3 children, we very much enjoyed the beauty of the castle, the grounds and the pool! It's 30 mins from Florence, an hour from Pisa and a great location for exploring Tuscany

Vielen Dank für den wundervollen Urlaub im Schloss Montegufoni. Die Zimmer waren gross gut ausgestattet und sehr sauber. Der Charme des Gebäudes erhöht die Erholung noch. Im Sommer ist der Pool sehr gut zu nutzen.

Wonderful architecture and surrounding scenery. Recommend for those for whom climbing slopes and stairs is not an issue. Great for healthy folks - a bit strenuous for elderly or extremely unfit folks. Great staff, clean, pool is a plus in summer. Lack of A/C not an issue for us in August - great ventilation/breeze throughout evening. Low humidity in Tuscany and large high/low temp difference between day and night.

We have had a magnificent time with our stay at the Castle at Montegugoni . We rented one of the villas inside the castle for the month and had 4 of our children come and visit witn us for a week . The staff were lovely and very helpful . The restaurant on site was so handy for meals and very accommodating for when our family were there. The country side is beautiful and surroundings villages are very accessible from the castle with your car . There is plenty of information given to you by staff for all surrounding villages . It is only about 20 km from Florence and we made at least 8 visits there . We made trips from there to Rome , Assisi ,Cinque Terre, Pisa , San Giminano , Seina,and Arezzo . A lovely winery up the road from the Castle is fascinating and one of the most prestigious Italian wine makers Frescobaldi Family . I have no hesitation in recommending Castle Di Montegufoin to fellow travellers.

Prima uitvalbasis om de omgeving te bekijken. Voor zeven personen (en baby)wel wat aan de krappe kant maar de locatie en de omgeving maakt veel goed!

Het apartement bevind zich om de bovenste woonlaag en omdat er geen airco is kan het vrij warm worden.
