Montegufoni, Tramonto

We enjoyed our stay at this apartment. It was a good location for us to day trip to visit the area with our kids. The apartment was sparse but clean and we enjoyed the pool and the convenience of the restaurant for a meal. Because this is more a hotel than an AirBNB do not expect any amenities (basics in the kitchen, pool towels, hair dryer). Check in and out times are also strict so make sure to note those when planning to avoid extra charges.

What an amazing and beautiful place. It was like a fairytale castle Our villa was beautiful and the views take your breath away.. The grounds are stunning, the pool was lovely and very clean. We ate at the restaurant which was really lovely with great food and service. Pisa and Florence are all within just over an hours drive away. We wish we could put into words how amazing this place is, our advise is to stay and see for yourselves, you will not be disappointed. We stayed with our 2 children (daughter of 14 and son of 11) it was ideal as they loved the pool and grounds. We were by the pool either first thing in the morning or later on in the afternoon after a day out and is always clean with places to relax by it. All the staff was very kind and friendly. Like I said there really are not enough words to describe this place and it’s beauty. We would most certainly go back and recommend it to others.

Montegufoni castle is absolutely beautiful. Staying in the cottages was a great value for money way to experience this beautiful part of Tuscany. Use of all the castle amenities included, which are lovely - beautiful pool, fantastic restaurant, space to roam with children - we used the chest of games in the reception area, drinks from the bar enjoyed on the terrace. The cottage gave us the space we needed and has air conditioning in both bedrooms which made sleeping comfortable when we visited at the beginning of August. Very handy for Florence - we visited 2 days and drove in and parked in about 40 minutes. We stopped in pisa on the way - about an hour away. Accomodation was clean and had everything we needed. Loads of space and beautiful views. Wifi was great. We had a toddler with us and the cottage does have a stone staircase which we had to be mindful of. Good shower. We were welcomed warmly and shown around. We loved our stay here and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to others.

You definitely need a car, as there's really nothing within walking distance. That said, the location was perfect for us, with easy access to Montespertoli, as well as Florence, Siena and Lucca. The pool was a godsend for the hot weather. Restaurant was delicious and a beautiful relaxed atmosphere.

Historic castle in Tuscany in beautiful surroundings. The atmosphere makes you feel traveling back in time.

Un castello e sito bellissimi, i giardini e la piscina sono ben curati,al ristorante il cibo è molto buono, gli impiegati sono molto gentili e simpatici. Si parla l’inglese molto bene! Siamo arrivati tardi la sera, e si pagano 25 euro per il late check-in che non ci dava fastidio- ma visto che il castello è in buio sarebbe una bella idea accendere le luci (che ci sono) per facilitare l’accesso?! L’appartamento stesso è vecchio quel che si aspetta vicino ad un castello, sfortunatamente anche poco pulito. Il bagno è improvvisato- che anche quello non si aspetta altro visto che all’epoca non erano le esigenze di oggi- ma si potrebbe restituire un sedile del water che si era rotto non so quando …
Riassumendo dirò che sarebbe il posto giusto per un soggiorno per pochi giorni è con tempo splendido.

A beautiful castle steeped in history and art with stunning views over the Tuscan hills. The staff are very friendly and helpful. This property is a dream for people looking for culture in a relaxed atmosphere.

We stayed here a few nights for a wedding on the property and had a fabulous time! The staff were so nice and polite, the apartment was very spacious with a great patio, and the set up for the wedding was beautiful. The best part was that the views from the back garden are stunning! I would definitely recommend renting a car and coming to stay here.

Castle has a lot of heritage and plenty around the area to keep entertained

Staying at Castello di Montegufoni was a dream come true! The castle is amazing, there is so much to explore. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and have all the appliances needed for an enjoyable stay. We traveled with our two small children and we had everything we needed to feel like home. The staff at Montegufoni were very helpful. They gave us local tips, made dinner and wine tasting reservations, provided us with maps and directions on how to get to different towns around the area. We are already planning our return next year. Thank you for a wonderful time!

Le logement est agréable, bien situé et bien équipé, le cadre est magnifique. Seul bémol, au mois d'avril, il y faisait froid.

Très bon accueil et un logement vraiment à la hauteur de nos attentes. Le chateau est très sympa, la situation en Toscane permet de rayonner facilement dans toute cette magnifique région.
