Es war eine idyllische Schlossatmosphäre. Die Wohnungen sind dementsprechend einfach ausgestattet. Es fehlte ein Backofen und man hatte keine normalen Steckdosen, wobei man das notwendige Zubehör kaufen musste.
Klimaanlage war vorhanden und man hatte trotz der vielen Wohnungen seine Privatsphäre.

We loved the place - easy to get around og nearby the airport.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Montegufoni. The room had plenty of space for the four of us and the surrounding area was beautiful. Reception was friendly and we were lucky enough to enjoy two meals at the restaurant for dinner. The views were amazing! Make the time for a dip in the pool and cocktails on the veranda. The nearby town of Boccia had friendly locals where we able to have a coffee and pastry in the mornings and shop for groceries. The location was good for visiting many other towns in Tuscany and traveling the Chianti trail.

We loved it and the pleasant surprise was the fire place. When we went to reception for assistance there was someone to assist! We didn’t want to leave it was absolutely amazing !

It was a magical stay with the best staff. It seemed like a dream to stay in such a beautiful castle.

The Montegufonni 1B was a beautiful place to stay. With a nice design and exquisite details, we spent three amazing days there.

The place is a bit tricky to get to if you're not used to driving on country roads, however, this is what makes it a bit more special. The location is beautiful , really nice surroundings, the castle itself is great and you must do a little explore, and there's also a nice little village next to it where we had a great lunch in a family run café with local dishes and wines. Within 5 minutes walk the opposite direction, you will find a great restaurant in an old monastery which is on the pricier side but very good value Getting to Florence took around 20 minutes and within For Italian standards, the rooms were a little tired and found some dried mosquitoes on the tiles, but generally clean. The pool was a great addition to the stay despite only using once due to the bad weather during our stay. The reception lady was very friendly and informative, the only thing that was miscommunicated was with the delivery of a birthday cake which we ended up receiving the day after

We had such a memorable experience staying at Montegufoni. The castle and surroundings were beautiful. The best part of our stay was the restaurant. The food was always delicious and the staff was the best. Montegufoni is centrally located to many beautiful surrounding towns, so it is easy to drive for a days excursion.

We rented one of the apartments outside the castle. Unfortunately, there were multiple mosquitos inside the apratment, despite never opening any windows, and everyone was covered in bites after 2 days. Additionally, although the apartment sleeps 8, there is no comfortable seating for that number of people, other than at the dining table. There is a small seat and 2-person 'loveseat' around the fireplace, but they are far from comfortable. The grounds in the castle 'proper' were beautiful, the pool was very pleasant, and the restaurant food and service were great. The location is convenient for exploring western Tuscany and Florence. I would recommend staying in the castle 'proper' but perhaps not in the facilites outside the castle.

This was a real fantastic place to spend a couple weeks.

The castle is beautiful. You will have a great experience. Everything about the Castello was great except for the transportation. This is disappointing from an American point of view. I saw families walking down the narrow winding roads to get to a bus stop. It would be more convenient if the castle would at least provide a shuttle. We had to rent a car which was also not easy as you have to go to the city of Florence which is 40 minutes away and most rentals are only available at the airport. If the transportation was more accessible this would be better for business for the castle and the surrounding towns. If you are planning on staying at the castle please allow for car rental expenses in your budget unless you plan to stay at the castle the entire time then you will only have to spend between $70 - $100 dollars for a taxi depending on the driver. This is the only downside but I would visit and stay at the castle again.

Very nice place to stay, beautiful castle and surroundings. Appartment is clean and was very spacious.

Le cadre est de toute beauté. Il est agréable de voir que la piscine n'est pas surchargée et que l'on peut s'y reposer. Nous avons regretté l'absence de moustiquaires aux fenêtres et, dans ce lieu, les moustiques vous font vivre un enfer. Nous avions l'un des 3 appartements où les espaces extérieurs (table + fauteuils) sont quasiment côte à côte donc pas d'intimité (nous ne l'avons donc pas utilisé). Les autres appartements bénéficiaient d'un agencement mieux adapté pour profiter de l'extérieur.

Good:

Beautiful location
Welcoming staff
Local vineyard to go wine tasting (walking distance)
Spacious rooms
Close to Florence
Great swimming pool
Restaurant (didn't eat but wish I had)

Bad:

Mosquitoes were terrible (anywhere outside any time of day you were at risk of biting). I did inquire and was informed that this was sadly down to lockdown and not being able to spray at the time. Without the mosquitoes, this would definitely have been a 5 star.

Minor niggles:

Dishwasher next to useless - out of salt and rinse aid.
You needed to buy your own bin bags, dishwasher tablets, soap, dish clothes & toilet paper. I'd strongly suggest offering a 1-off pack for this as it's a lot less painful.
The dining area at 1B isn't great. It's tucked in a corner and especially with the mosquitos, it's unusable. The upstairs room also has no curtain so we had to put tin foil up to stop the kids getting up at daybreak.


I guess every apartment has it's benefits and problems though and in general, a great time was had by all (even the mosquitoes).

Bellissima struttura, curata e immersa nel verde con splendide viste sul circondario e una bella piscina. Personale molto cordiale. Purtroppo l’aria condizionata nel nostro appartamento non funzionava e non vi erano zampironi/zanzariere per proteggere gli ambienti dalle zanzare. Alla nostra segnalazione Lo staff ha comunque fatto il possibile per risolvere il problema procurando dei ventilatori sostitutivi.

Great location, with a great view on beautiful Toscana. We had the 1b appartment, so not in the main castle building, close to the nice and big enough swimming pool. The rooms are OK, good shower and bathrooms. Maybe not enough light. Also, there were some marriage events in the castle while we were there, so that the restaurant was closed on some evenings and there was a bit of noise from those events.

absolutely beautiful. The location is divine and the apartments were great for our family holiday. A perfect central spot to visit Florence, Siena, Pisa and all the beautiful towns in the Tuscany region.
The apartments whilst clean and comfortable needed a few more things in the kitchen. The washing facilities were not great with one shared washing machine.

Lovely location outside of Florence in the Tuscany countryside. Very helpful manager and comfortable accommodations. Beautiful gardens. We enjoyed a great bike ride and meals nearby. Easy access into the city. Good value.

We had a great stay for the week in very spacious accommodations. It was a
bit difficult to find the entrance, no light or sign at the entrance. We requested a few items (coffee, wine, cheese, eggs, water, bread etc.) be stocked for our arrival which we found upon arrival (25 Euros fee) well worth it. We did have dinner in the restaurant which was very good. They are not open for breakfast or lunch. The grounds are lovely. We discovered random painted ceilings and statutes around the property that were amazing. This is close to many places, to the town of Lucca (highly would recommend the day trip) Florence and so many vineyards. I would recommend it!

Montegufoni, a comfortable accommodation in a tranquil place close to Firenze and other attraction of Tuscany. We spent there one week in a charming scenery of the historical building and its peaceful surrounding.

We rented a villa for a family reunion and enjoyed a fabulous holiday. We found the staff pleasant and helpful. The apartment was well equipped and the amenities much better than at a hotel for our group of 8. Such a lovely experience in the midst of Tuscany surrounded by million dollar views will be difficult to duplicate. The property os well taken care of and wandering in the garden leaves one dreaming of how many eyes viewed the beauty of it all in the past. We loved how the property was located, not far from a couple of small villages to acquire basic groceries and serve as a great base for farther excursions to Florence and Pisa. Even without daily maid service, we felt like we had an opportunity to leave like royals and absolutely loved every day!

Das Schloss ist sehr stilvoll, landschaftlich wunderschön gelegen und auch verkehrstechnisch gut angebunden (Florenz mit dem Bus erreichbar, kleine Einkaufsgelegenheiten auch zu Fuß). Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, Wohnung und Anlage sauber und gepflegt. Die Ausstattung in der Wohnung war eher einfach, bot aber alles Notwendige. Wir waren sehr zufrieden.

My family stayed at Montegufoni for 5 days in May and it was excellent! The apartment was spacious and comfortable, and the staff were helpful. The food at the restaurant was wonderful too. I would stay here again! Such a beautiful location and lovely old castle.

Appartamento spazioso anche per un gruppo di 8 persone e ben attrezzato; personale disponibile.

Very nice villa with enough room for a larger group. Castle amenities were a big plus - concierge services, good food at the restaurant.

Beautiful surroundings, local facilities could need slightly, improvements, apartment clean and nice, aircon should be included in rental fee

L'endroit idéale pour découvrir la Toscane. Idéalement situé dans le triangle Firenze- Pisa- Siena. Des vues superbes sur les vignobles et oliviers avoisinants ainsi que sur les autres châteaux perchés sur les collines. Nous avons hâte d'y retourner.
