Montegufoni, Bastione

Had a wonderful stay at Montegufoni. Il Bastione was a stunning apartment and amazing to stay in such a historical place. The pool and restaurant were great.

Vi havde et fantastisk ophold på Castello de Montegufoni! Omgivelserne var smukke, og stedet er enormt hyggeligt. Stærkt anbefalelsesværdigt!

Wunderschönes und ruhiges Domizil. Einfach märchenhaft. Toller Pool, sehr gutes Restaurant. Sehr zu empfehlen! Sehr nette und zuvorkommende Gastgeber. Die Städte Siena, Pisa, San Gimignano sind mit dem Auto in ca. 50 min alle sehr gut erreichbar. Florenz ist in ca. 30 min. erreichbar. Auto ist empfohlen.

We loved the castel, location, environment, decoraties and the view!
There are a few things we missed: to bring our own toilet paper is a bit poor, basic household items like dish soap etc, some basic cooking items salt/pepper, sugar, water etc. And a 24/7 caretaker in the castel would be recommended. One night we were the only guests, the weather was thunderstorms and lightning all night, and the power went out. So is was dark. The emergency lights went on but was exhausted after about 30 minutes. It felt very uncomfortable.
Further we understand the reason why the restaurant was closed and less guests stayed at the castle, but we missed this very much!

The castle is a lovely setting in Tuscany. We stayed in the Bastione apartment, which is large and has a lovely private garden sitting area. Be advised it also has a long, spiral staircase leading from the bedroom, to the bath, to the lower level kitchen. Anyone with mobility issues should avoid this apartment.

We went in April and the out of season service is minimal (no bar, restaurant, limited reception opening time). WIFI coverage should be improved and extended (ideally in the rooms). BUT this is a charming location, Giuseppe and the receptionist were very helpful, very authentic Tuscan feel about the place. It is not luxury, but an excellent place to relax and enjoy this beautiful area. We used to come to Montegufoni 30 years ago and we're glad to find it had not been spoiled.

Lovely experience staying in castle, able to catch bus to Florence. Room felt damp.

Excellent experience staying in an actual castle. Beautiful location ideal for people with a car to do day trips in Tuscany (Florence, Pisa, Siena etc...). We stayed in the bastione room and the downstairs area (kitchen/living room) is perfect: nice and cool so we didn't have to use the air conditioning

We had our wedding at this castle and stayed there for a week with our guests. Valentina was superb in helping us plan the wedding from abroad and her suggestions were absolutely fabulous. Our guests simply rave about the wedding ceremony/reception and the whole event and Valentina was the one who made it all happen: she is a true professional! The castle itself is simply marvellous, full of history, very functional and the staff (including Giuseppe who makes sure everything is in working order) are very kind and helpful. This week was by far one of our best vacations ever and the wedding is recognized by all our guests as just amazing!

This was a wonderful place if you want a true Italian experience. It's not a hotel! It's quiet and quant. There are no amenities but if you want to feel the "Italian" experience, it's great. The staff is very accomadating.

La residenza "bastione" si è rivelata un luogo affascinate e suggestivo ove tornare la sera dopo aver viaggiato durante il giorno per la magnifica Toscana. Splendido il contesto del castello, ottima l'organizzazione.
